Elaine Will (born Elaine Berlin April 21, circa 1932) is a U.S. writer, movie director, and performer. Together by using Mike Nichols, she founded A trail-blazing amusing company A Compass Players, which late became The Second City. A duo went in to produce one of a virtually all successful comedy acts of the day.
She was nominated for Academy Awards for Best Screenplay for the comedy Heaven Can Wait (which she co-wrote with a film's star Warren Beatty) and for her adaptation of Joe Klein's book Primary Colors.
She besides wrote & directed a film Ishtar in 1987. Largely shot in location in the Middle East, a production was beset by internal difficulties, & advance publicity was and then terrible that a picture never had off a ground, becoming one of the large cinematic failures of its day.

She was natural inside Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and as a child she from time to time performed by having her father, Jack Berlin, on stage; he was the Yiddish theatrical actor.
